Change Wi-Fi name or password

by

Before you start

  • Make sure you’re connected to the device’s Wi-Fi
  • Have your current Wi-Fi password to hand

Step-by-step

  1. Connect to the device Wi-Fi. Use the Wi-Fi name and password on the device label.
  2. Open the settings page. In your browser, type the device’s local settings address shown in your setup guide/label (commonly a 192.168.x.x address).
  3. Log in. Use the admin login shown in your setup guide/label.
  4. Find Wi-Fi settings. Look for “Wi-Fi”, “Wireless”, or “Network” settings.
  5. Change the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password. Save/apply changes.
  6. Reconnect your devices. Your phone/laptop will disconnect and you’ll need to join using the new Wi-Fi name/password.

Tips

  • Use a password you’ll remember (12+ characters is ideal).
  • Avoid personal info (postcode, address, etc.).
  • If you split 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, give them different names (e.g. “HomeWiFi” and “HomeWiFi-5G”).
